Okay, sorry for the bad angles of the shots, it's hard to get a good pic of your ankle while taking it yourself...at least for me it is...anyway, lemme describe this tat for you.
I got it in october, after months of planning. I'm not going to go into full details here, not until I get a nicer photo, which will hopefully be very soon. But here are the basics:
What it means....
--It's mainly inspired by the song 'Watch the Sky' by Something Corporate but it's got influences from the band in general as well as the band Jack's Mannequin, both fronted by Andrew McMahon.
The lyrics are as follows:
I'm lost at sea, the radio is jamming, but they won't find me I swear it's for the best, and then your frequency is pulling me in closer till I'm home and I've been up for days, I finally lost my mind, and then I lost my way, I'm blistered but I'm better and I'm home
I will crawl, there's things that are worth giving up, I know, but I won't let this get me, I will fight, you live the life you're given with the storms outside, somedays all I do is watch the sky
This room's too small, it's only getting smaller, up against the wall, I'm slowly getting taller, in this wonderland, your skin feels so familiar and I'm home
I'll crawl, there's thing that are worth giving up I know, but I won't let this get me, I will fight, you live the life you're given with the storms outside, somedays all I do is watch the sky, and somedays all I do is watch the sky
and I think I, I could use a little break today was a good day and I think I, I could use a little break, but today was a good day
...and it's a deep sea, in which I'm floated, and still I sink to think that I must...
crawl, there's things that are worth giving up I know, when you can't bare to carry me, I'll fight, you live the life you're given with the storms outside and somedays all I do is watch the sky today was a good day today was a good day... -------
I think only my friend Tabz really understands all the little inspirations hidden in it, though perhaps some die-hard fans will see them as well.
-------
-I got it done at Rochester Tattoo in Rochester, MN by Angie.
-I drew up the basic design (the sun and the moon with stars and the writing) Angie just perfected it.
-It took 4 hours to complete and I made a new friend during the process.
-It wraps all the way around my left ankle, sun on the outside, moon in.
-My parents hated it at first, though they've since come around (my mom more than my dad)
-I had an uber-cankle for a week after getting it done and i limped everywhere I went.
Overall, it was well worth the pain and I can't wait to get another. My next one (once I find the right artist) will be a wolf on my right hip. I have a few more shots on my myspace galleries, that show how swollen it was after getting it done, if you'd like to see them just lemme know and I'll link you. And if you have any questions about it, ask away.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
